Marco Bezzecchi closed the 2025 MotoGP season in spectacular style after delivering a flawless victory at the Valencia Grand Prix, fending off a late charge from Trackhouse Racing’s Raúl Fernández to secure Aprilia’s first-ever win at the circuit and their second consecutive one-two finish in the premier class.

Starting from pole, Bezzecchi controlled all 27 laps from the front, marking his third win of the season and becoming the first Aprilia rider to lead every lap of a Grand Prix. The Italian now ties Aleix Espargaró’s record for both wins and pole positions with the Noale manufacturer, further cementing his breakout season as one of Aprilia’s greatest of the modern MotoGP era.

The victory also makes this year Aprilia’s most successful campaign in MotoGP, with Bezzecchi contributing to a remarkable haul of 15 podiums, 3 sprint wins, 3full-race victories and 5 poles, while securing third place in the Riders’ Championship. Aprilia ends the season second in the Manufacturers’ standings with over 400 points, their highest tally to date.

Fernández added to the celebrations by powering from the mid-pack to second place, giving Trackhouse MotoGP Team a memorable home-race podium and sealing a dominant RS-GP25 one-two finish. The Spaniard showed exceptional late-race speed, cutting into Bezzecchi’s advantage in the final laps, but ultimately ran out of time to launch an attack.

Jorge Martín’s race ended early after Aprilia made the precautionary decision to retire the Spaniard on lap 15. Starting from P17 and carrying two long-lap penalties from the Motegi incident, Martín struggled physically and opted to preserve his condition ahead of Tuesday’s crucial post-season test.

Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio prevailed in a fierce battle with Pedro Acosta for third, denying the KTM rider a final podium for 2025 and giving Aprilia even more reason to celebrate on a historic day for the brand.

Speaking after the race, Bezzecchi reflected on a season he described as “fantastic,” acknowledging the pressure from Fernández in the closing stages. “I wanted this victory so much. The last two laps were not easy, but I stayed super focused and tried not to make any mistakes.”

Jorge Martin

Martín said the withdrawal was the smart call: “There was no point tiring myself out without gaining anything. Better to arrive fresh for Tuesday’s test because we have several things to try.”

Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola praised the team’s monumental season, highlighting their leap forward in performance and consistency. “It was fantastic to see two Aprilias out front. Marco had a perfect season, finishing third with a good margin. As manufacturers, we surpassed 400 points to take second place. This must motivate us for 2026, which begins on Tuesday.”

With Aprilia heading into the off-season with momentum, confidence, and a rapidly improving RS-GP project, the focus now turned to 2026, where Noale is determined to continue its rise as a MotoGP powerhouse.
