The 17th round of the 2025 MXGP World Championship took place this weekend at the Arnhem circuit, Motorsport Park Gelderland Midden, in the Netherlands. The 1,680-meter sand track, known for its deep and demanding terrain, once again proved a formidable test for the world’s best riders. It was the third consecutive year the venue hosted the Dutch Grand Prix, located just 100 kilometres from Amsterdam.

Saturday Struggles in Qualifying

For the Aruba.it – Ducati Factory MX Team, Saturday set the tone for a challenging weekend. Both Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini endured tough qualifying sessions, finishing 20th and 21st, leaving them with less-than-ideal gate picks for Sunday’s motos.

Race One: Guadagnini Fights, Seewer Recovers

When the gates dropped for the first moto, Guadagnini showcased the raw power of the #101 Desmo450 MX, making a strong push into the top ten despite his poor starting slot. However, as the laps wore on, the Italian lost ground and eventually crossed the line in 16th.
Seewer’s race began in disaster with a first-turn crash that left him buried in 35th. The Swiss rider showed resilience, charging through the field and salvaging 19th, ensuring both Ducati riders finished inside the points.

Race Two: Steady but Limited Progress

In the second moto, Seewer managed a stronger launch, coming through the holeshot line in 16th, while Guadagnini started deeper in 21st. As the race unfolded, Guadagnini clawed his way up the order, passing his teammate on lap five and moving into the points zone. The Italian eventually secured 17th, with Seewer again bringing home 19th after 19 demanding laps in the Arnhem sand.

Looking Ahead: Triple-Header Challenge

Despite the difficult outing, the Ducati Factory MX Team continues to gain valuable experience in its first full season in MXGP’s premier class with the Desmo450 MX. The focus now shifts to the final three rounds of the season. The series resumes in two weeks at Afyon, Türkiye, before heading east to China and then south to Australia for the season finale.

The team will be looking to regroup and come back stronger as the championship enters its decisive stretch.
