Yoshimura SERT Motul secured a spectacular victory in the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), clinching their second consecutive Bol d’Or win at Circuit Paul Ricard, France.

The Suzuki-powered team, consisting of riders Gregg Black, Dan Linfoot, and Étienne Masson, delivered a flawless performance to claim their second EWC title since 2021, adding to the 11 titles earned under the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team banner.

This win marked Suzuki’s 20th triumph in the legendary Bol d’Or 24-hour race, with Black and Masson becoming four-time winners of the prestigious event.

Reflecting on his first season with the team, Dan Linfoot said, “Winning the championship in my first year with Yoshimura SERT Motul is a dream come true. It’s been an incredible experience to work with this fantastic team and my amazing teammates.”

Gregg Black, who overcame an injury to compete, added, “It’s been two complicated months for me, getting my wrist back into condition and trying to find the strength to return. I wasn’t sure if I could make it, but I completed all my stints and kept the pace up.”

Yamaha-powered KM 99 celebrated its first EWC podium with a second-place finish. Riders Randy de Puniet, Jérémy Guarnoni, and Florian Marino secured the title of top independent EWC team for 2024.

The Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team, which entered the race as championship leaders, finished third after unscheduled pitstops hindered their title defense. Niccolò Canepa, a key YART rider, retired from racing without securing a third world title but remains an EWC legend.

“We had hoped for a better fight with SERT,” Canepa said. “But given the early setbacks, we’re happy to finish on the podium.”

In the FIM Endurance World Cup, the National Motos Honda FMA claimed the title despite technical challenges. Team 18 Sapeurs Pompiers CMS Motostore took Bol d’Or honours in the Dunlop category, finishing an impressive fourth overall.

BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, starting from pole position for the third consecutive year, faced a difficult race. Although Markus Reiterberger set a new race lap record, a crash involving team newcomer Hannes Soomer shifted the lead to Yoshimura SERT Motul.

Despite mechanical issues and Soomer’s shoulder injury, BMW managed to finish the race, though delayed.
