A Father’s Struggle and Determination
It began when Teacher Fadli noticed a student arriving at school sweaty every day. Curious, he investigated and found that the student’s parents were walking 8 kilometres daily to get their son to school. The father, a former food delivery rider, had lost his motorcycle to repossession after missing payments for four months. Despite this, the father stayed committed. He walked 2 kilometres to school and back, twice a day, ensuring his son didn’t miss school. His dedication was evident when he and his wife attended their son’s Standard 1 Orientation, usually attended by mothers. The father, despite lacking formal education, prioritized his children’s schooling.
Teacher Fadli’s Generous Offer
Moved by the father’s story, Teacher Fadli decided to help. After driving the family home, he offered to buy the father a new motorcycle. The father was hesitant but eventually accepted the offer after some convincing. He suggested two potential models for Teacher Fadli to choose from. This act of kindness immediately lifted the father’s burden. This restored their primary source of income. As Teacher Fadli said, “His child must be smiling with joy. His wife’s heart is blooming.”
