Yamaha has officially confirmed that Alex Rins will continue to race alongside Fabio Quartararo in the factory Monster team for the 2025 and 2026 MotoGP seasons.

Rins, a race winner for Suzuki and then LCR Honda, joined Yamaha this season on a one-year contract. Despite his best Grand Prix finish being 13th this year and missing the German GP due to injury, his past success, work ethic, attention to detail, and extensive experience make him a key player in Yamaha’s multi-year development plan.

After suffering foot and hand injuries at the 2024 Dutch GP, Rins are back in action for the British GP weekend as the second half of the 2024 season kicks off.

The 28-year-old Spaniard underwent surgery during the summer break and has been fully committed to recovering in time for Silverstone.

“We are delighted to announce that Alex Rins will continue as a Yamaha factory rider for another two years,” said Yamaha Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis.

“We have a strong desire to return to the top in the MotoGP championship. To achieve this, we’ve recruited new staff, restructured internally, and expanded our technical partnerships.

“We’re also expanding our presence in 2025 with a second Factory Team. Alex’s signing is a crucial part of our MotoGP Project. He is not only talented and fast but also technically savvy, hardworking, and a team player. His collaboration with Fabio gives us confidence in our bike development project.

“With the 2025-26 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider line-up established, we are looking forward to the remaining 11 races of the 2024 season with Alex and Fabio, fully focused on the task at hand.”

Rins also expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m very happy to continue with Yamaha for two more years and thank the team and management for their trust. Our goal is to bring Yamaha back to fighting for championships. Yamaha’s commitment to improvement is evident, and we’ve made significant progress this season. I’m excited to keep contributing my experience and work ethic to a team that is pushing hard together.”

Even though the factory squad has been confirmed, there are still two additional M1 seats available for 2025 as part of the new Pramac Yamaha project.
