Recently, Suzuki Malaysia has officially announced its re-introduction to the Malaysian market under new management with six large-capacity models. Malaysians have been wondering whether Suzuki sub-250 cc models will enter Malaysia. The Japanese manufacturer itself has stated in its press statement that there are indications of such plans already.
Suzuki Malaysia will be separating its dealership channels into three streams. The Suzuki Big Bike World will cover the entire range of Suzuki motorcycle models in Malaysia. The Suzuki Station Plus will feature motorcycles up to 800cc in capacity. Lastly, the Suzuki Station will cater to motorcycles below 250cc engine displacement.
Suzuki Malaysia’s plan of bringing in smaller capacity bikes is much more concrete than ever. As such, Malaysians can soon feast their eyes on the Belang/Raider 150 just like its counterparts in Indonesia. Other 250cc bikes include the V-Strom 250, GSX-R150, GSX-S150 and the GSX250R, primarily which are primarily in India.
There is yet to be an answer as to who is to be the dealer. However, the anonymous dealer states that there is a long list of sub-quarter litre-class bikes in the dealership negotiations.
Suzuki Malaysia was meant to make a sooner move to Malaysia. However, the plan was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
