1200cc Brixton Confirmed for Production

1200cc Brixton Confirmed for Production

According to sources, a China-made 1200cc Brixton Bonneville-rival is going for production.

Brixton is actually part Chinese, part Austrian motorcycle manufacturer specializes in manufacturing small-displacement bikes. The lineup ranges from scramblers to cafe racers and vintage-style bikes.  The biggest bike in Brixton’s lineup is the Brixton crossfire 500 which was launched during EICMA 2019. At the launch, Brixton also introduced their 1200cc concept bike. According to sources Brixton now confirms the production of this bike.

The Reports

Brixton is partly Austrian because it’s a part of Austria’s  KSR Group. KSR imports bikes from various  Chinese manufacturers like CFMoto. They also recently relaunched the Malaguti brand. The sources also claim the new 1200cc Brixton would be built in China, however, it was initially designed at KSR’s newly opened design centre in Krups, Austria.

Brixton’s official statement on the development of this bike:  “ it shows the way of Brixton Motorcycles into even higher capacity classes and proves the development competence of our brand.”

As of now, the name or full specs of the bike is unknown. However, Chinese reports suggest the Brixton 1200 would roll out with a 1200 parallel-twin engine putting it directly in competition with the Triumphs T120 Bonneville. On top of this, there is clearly a traditional British look to the machine.

Furthermore, the release date of the bike is also unknown. According to sources, Brixton isn’t committing to a date yet, only saying “It is a declared goal that this bike will also make it into series production.”

“It has not yet been decided when it will be. We want to create a technically mature vehicle without time pressure, which meets more than just the high-quality requirements in these cubic capacity classes.”

However, sources speculate Brixton to launch this bike by 2021. As for the price, there is no information. If Brixton puts a decent price tag on this bike, this would definitely be something to look forward to.
