Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings is back on his bike after his foot recovery but will the racer make it back to the MXGP tracks?
Jeffrey Herlings has already made his way back to his Red Bull 450 SX-F but there is still no firm answer on when will the racer make his comeback to the Motocross scene. According to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, the 24-year-old has been completing short practice motos on his machine for about three weeks. Herlings sustained a foot injury in Spain and had surgery at the beginning of the year to repair the fractures. It is said that he has recovered some strength and stability. The defending champion is still on his road to recovery but is slowly showing positive outcomes in his progress. However, Herlings will not be heading to France this week with the rest of the team.
“It feels great to be back on the bike again but I have to take things slowly and listen to what my body is saying. Sometimes I still have some pain in my foot and I need to train and get a good time on the bike after three months of almost doing nothing. Basically, I need to ride myself into shape,” says Jeffrey Herlings as quoted from Red Bull KTM. “I want to come back to the track when I am 100% but I know I won’t be able to return and win; it will take a few races to get back up to a good level and the rest of the guys are already pushing hard and have the rhythm of regular racing. I’m working hard and will be back as soon as possible,” he adds.
