If you ever wanted to own an actual MotoGP prototype that’s been used in racing and specifically used by a MotoGP title contender, like Andrea Dovizioso, then we’ve got great news for you!
Ducati will sell six Desmosedici GP17 factory prototypes at the end of this season.
It’s not unusual that race teams, especially in car racing, sell their old race cars to special clients. Ferrari does it all the time. But for a MotoGP team to actually allow a human besides the MotoGP aliens to own such a racing machine, that’s not usual, and that’s why this is a special moment for those looking to get a special machine into their garage.
Unfortunately, Ducati won’t sell – for now that is – the GP18 with which Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo have won races this season, but you might get the second-best thing, the Desmosedici GP17 used by Dovizioso last season, and the version being used now by riders like Jack Miller, Alvaro Bautista and Tito Rabat.
Ducati will sell each bike at a price of 250 thousand euros, something like RM1.196.776,41 , but the money alone won’t do you much good, since Ducati will have to accept your offer, and that will only happen when you prove that you’re a real Ducatista that should deserve one od these MotoGP bikes in your garage.
If you have this kind of money, this is a nice way to invest on a special racing machine, and these opportunities won’t come around often!
