18th of March 2018 is a day that racing fans will always remember, not only because it marks the start of what promises to be an exciting season for the World Grand Prix Championship, where Malaysia is now represented with three riders – Hafizh Syahrin in MotoGP, and Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Khairul Idham Pawi in the Moto2 class -, but also because it will be the first time we’ll see the Energica Ego do a demo lap at the Losail circuit, in Qatar.
Energica, if you recall, is the Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer chosen by Dorna to supply all the bikes for the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup electric motorcycles championship.
After the announcement, Energica started to work on a race version of the Ego superbike, and the result will be shown in a world premiere today in Losail.
The race version is dubbed Ego Corsa, and Energica asked former rider and now TV commentator Simon Crafar to ride the bike around Losail, showing to the fans what this electric superbike is capable of doing on a track.
The demo lap will happen just before the start of the MotoGP race and you can watch it live in www.motogp.com .
