The X-Trial World Championship makes a long-awaited return to the United Kingdom this weekend, with Leeds hosting Round 6 of the 2026 season after a ten-year absence from the UK calendar. All eyes will be on the Repsol Honda HRC squad as the championship enters its second half with the team firmly in control of the standings.
Leading the title race is Toni Bou, who arrives in Leeds with 95 points following a dominant start to the season. The reigning champion has already claimed five victories and one second-place finish, opening up a 23-point advantage at the top. Bou will be aiming to further strengthen that lead on British soil, where he last competed in X-Trial action with a runner-up finish.
Close behind him is teammate Gabriel Marcelli, who has delivered one of the most consistent campaigns of his career. With five second-place finishes and a third-place finish across the opening rounds, Marcelli sits second overall on 72 points, ten clear of third-placed Jaime Busto. For the young Spaniard, Leeds represents another opportunity to stay within striking distance of the championship lead and push for a breakthrough win.
The pair continue to underline the strength of Repsol Honda HRC, whose riders have set the benchmark in the indoor series so far this season. With Bou’s experience and Marcelli’s growing confidence, the team enters the Leeds round as clear favourites.
The action gets underway at 5:00pm local time on Saturday at the First Direct Bank Arena, where fans can expect a spectacular evening of precision, balance and high-stakes championship drama as X-Trial finally returns to the UK stage.
