Triumph has unveiled the 2026 Trident 800, a new middleweight roadster that bridges the gap between the approachable Trident 660 and the more performance-focused Street and Speed Triple ranges. It will be arriving in dealerships in April 2026 with a starting price of $9,995. The Trident 800 marks Triumph’s latest step in redefining its modern naked lineup.

A Bigger Heart, Familiar Soul

At the core of the new Trident 800 is Triumph’s 798cc triple-cylinder engine. It is the same powerplant that drives the Tiger Sport 800. Tuned for roadster duty, it delivers 113.4 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 61.9 lb-ft of torque at 8,500 rpm. It blends sharp throttle response with the signature three-cylinder soundtrack Triumph riders know and love.

The engine uses forged internal components, a revised airbox, and a new intake system that creates a deep growl at low revs and a distinctive howl at high speeds. A ride-by-wire throttle manages power delivery through three selectable modes: Road, Sport, and Rain. Meanwhile, a six-axis IMU actively controls lean-sensitive traction and ABS systems.

More Tech, More Control

Triumph has equipped the Trident 800 with a comprehensive electronics suite for its class. Standard features include a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and a 3.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, call management, and music control. The display retains the minimalist, circular design aesthetic that ties the bike visually to its 660 sibling.

Modern Muscle with Classic Lines

Design-wise, the Trident 800 captures a balance between minimalism and muscularity. The sculpted fuel tank, compact tail section, and side-mounted exhaust lend the bike a substantial road presence without adding bulk. Details like the black side panels, belly pan, and small flyscreen enhance the big-bike look while maintaining a manageable riding stance.

Visually, the single round headlight pays homage to Triumph’s heritage. It evokes the early Speed Triples of the ’90s while keeping a thoroughly modern finish.

Built for Real-World Riding

The 800 uses a tubular steel perimeter frame with Showa 41mm Separate Function Big Piston forks and a Showa rear monoshock that offers both preload and rebound adjustment — an upgrade from the 660’s setup. Dual radial-mount four-piston callipers with 310mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc deliver strong, responsive braking performance.

The geometry aims to strike the perfect middle ground: agile enough for city carving, stable enough for highway blasts, and comfortable for weekend touring.

Style Options and Arrival

The 2026 Trident 800 will come in three colour options:

  • Ash Grey with Diablo Red accents
  • Carnival Red with Graphite
  • (Additional options to be available closer to release)

Positioned for the Sweet Spot

The Trident 800 represents Triumph’s answer to riders seeking more power and technology than the 660, without stepping up to the aggressive posture or price point of the Street Triple. It’s a motorcycle designed to deliver premium performance in an accessible, stylish, and versatile package.

With its potent triple engine, refined electronics, and balanced design, the Trident 800 reinforces Triumph’s mastery of the middleweight class, blending nostalgia, innovation, and everyday rideability in one sleek new form.
