Ducati has introduced the new Panigale V4 R, the most advanced production superbike in the company’s history and the closest yet to a factory World Superbike machine. Born from years of MotoGP and WSBK development, the 2026 Panigale V4 R packs groundbreaking engineering into a road-legal package built for riders who demand pure racing performance.
MotoGP Technology in a Production Bike
At the heart of the V4 R is the latest 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine, delivering 218 hp in Euro 5+ trim (208 hp in U.S. spec) and capable of revving to an astonishing 16,500 rpm. Fit the optional racing exhaust, and power jumps to 235 hp, with a top speed exceeding 330 km/h, territory once reserved for MotoGP bikes. New lightweight pistons, a forged steel crankshaft, and revised intake components provide stronger midrange torque and blistering top-end power, all while meeting Euro 5+ emissions standards.
Aerodynamics and Chassis for the Track
The Panigale V4 R debuts MotoGP-inspired Corner Sidepods and larger biplane wings that increase downforce by 25%, improving stability during hard braking and high-speed cornering. Ducati pairs these aero gains with a lightweight Front Frame and Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm, plus fully adjustable Öhlins NPX25/30 fork and TTX36 shock to ensure razor-sharp handling and maximum grip.
Racing Gearbox and Electronics
For the first time on a production motorcycle, Ducati equips the V4 R with a Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG) featuring neutral below first gear, just like a MotoGP machine. This setup enables faster, more precise downshifts and eliminates accidental neutral engagement during aggressive braking. A sophisticated electronics suite—complete with cornering ABS, traction and slide control, and Ducati’s advanced Vehicle Observer strategy—lets riders fine-tune performance for the track or road.
A Limited Series with Heritage
Produced in a numbered series, the Panigale V4 R continues Ducati’s legendary R lineage that began with the 996R in 2001. Each bike carries its model name and serial number on the steering plate, underscoring its exclusivity and racing pedigree.
The 2026 Ducati Panigale V4 R will arrive in European dealerships in November 2025, with U.S. deliveries to follow. For riders seeking the ultimate expression of Ducati racing technology, the new V4 R sets a new benchmark for speed, precision, and pure adrenaline.
