The FIM MiniGP Malaysia 2025 Championship delivered another thrilling round of racing in Tangkak as the nation’s rising stars continued to shine in their hunt for podium glory. The high-speed corners of the Tangkak Racing Circuit once again tested the mental resilience and technical skills of riders across four categories: FIM MiniGP 190, FIM MiniGP 160, SIC Ohvale Junior Championship (110cc), and the newly introduced support class, RCB MiniMoto Championship.
Qabil Irfan Azlan Extends Dominance in FIM MiniGP 190
In the premier FIM MiniGP 190 category, national sensation Qabil Irfan Azlan maintained his commanding form by clinching victories in both races, bringing his season tally to four consecutive wins.
“I tried to stay consistent from the practice sessions. The bike felt great, and I focused on one corner at a time. Winning both races feels amazing. Early wins are important to avoid mistakes and manage the raceline well. I’m looking forward to Round 4 at Litar LYL. It’s an exciting track, and I’ll be aiming for another win,” said Qabil.
With this result, Qabil leads the overall standings with 150 points, followed by Selangor riders Adam Aiman and Qayyim Razin, who remain in the top three.
Qasha Irfan Azlan Takes Charge in FIM MiniGP 160
The FIM MiniGP 160 category saw a brilliant performance from Qabil’s younger brother, Qasha Irfan Azlan, who demonstrated both maturity and aggression on track to secure double race wins after overtaking Pahang’s Al-Adam Mikail in a late-race manoeuvre.
“I capitalised on a small mistake by Adam and blocked him in the final corner to secure the win,” Qasha explained.
With back-to-back wins, Qasha now leads the overall standings with 136 points.
Ziqry Rayyan Dominates Ohvale Junior (110cc)
In the SIC Ohvale Junior Championship, 10-year-old Ziqry Rayyan from Negeri Sembilan delivered a flawless performance by winning both races from pole position. He maintained a consistent pace and kept his composure under pressure from Selangor’s Firash Naufal, who finished second in both races. Indonesian rider Arby Thoriq claimed third in both races.
“I saw the gap closing behind me, so I just kept pushing and focused until the finish line,” said Ziqry.
Ziqry now climbs to third in the standings with 84 points. Arby Thoriq remains at the top with 109 points, followed by Firash with 100 points.
Faith Mikael Shines in RCB MiniMoto Debut Win
The new RCB MiniMoto Championship proved equally dramatic as 8-year-old Faith Mikael from Selangor stole the spotlight with a stunning maiden victory. Starting from third, Faith kept her cool as local favourite Wan Haqim Al Mahdi initially led the race. However, a mistake by Wan Haqim in the final corner opened the door for Faith to seize the lead and cross the finish line for her first career win.
Wan Haqim, 6, had to settle for third after a recovery attempt, while Yusof Iskandar, 7, from Negeri Sembilan, took second with a consistent ride.
Championship leader Fayyad Anaqi faced a tough outing after a late-race crash left him in fourth. However, he bounced back in Race 2 with a commanding win to retain his lead at the top of the standings with 108 points.
Wan Haqim redeemed himself by finishing second in Race 2, keeping him firmly in title contention with 62 points, followed by Raqib Rozman of Kuala Lumpur in third overall with 58 points.
With the Tangkak round concluded, all eyes now turn to Round 4 at the LYL International Karting Circuit from 9–10 August, before the season finale at RUD Sepang Karting Circuit on 11–12 October. The battle for supremacy among Malaysia’s youngest two-wheeled talents is far from over.
