In a significant step toward international expansion, Guizhou New Kuangye Technology has dispatched its first 1,000 electric motorcycles for road testing in Kazakhstan. This marks the beginning of a 300,000-unit export agreement worth 900 million yuan (approximately RM585 million).

Workers inspected the units on Friday in Tongren, Guizhou province, ahead of their delivery for performance trials and certification. The deal, signed on June 10, reflects a broader trend among Chinese electric motorcycle manufacturers: turning outward in response to increasing saturation and competition in the domestic market.

Expanding Beyond China

The company, which already boasts over 300 service outlets and more than 200 branded stores across China, is actively refocusing its strategy on global markets.

The shift began in 2023 with the firm’s first overseas shipment to Thailand. Buyers gave positive feedback on the bikes, praising their unique design, strong performance, and eco-friendly credentials. Their success in Thailand quickly opened doors to neighbouring markets, leading to follow-up orders from Laos.

“Southeast Asia’s tropical climate demands exceptional battery performance,” Fu noted. “After rigorous testing and continuous improvements, our products have proven fully capable of meeting local needs.”

Central Asia and Africa on the Horizon

Now, with the Kazakh order underway, the company plans to deepen its reach not just in Central Asia, but also in Africa. These two regions have a growing demand for affordable, sustainable mobility solutions. Fu emphasised that the firm remains committed to enhancing product adaptability across various climates and terrains.

Guizhou New Kuangye Technology combines strong manufacturing capacity, product versatility, and strategic ambition. With these strengths, the company is positioning itself as a formidable player in the global electric motorcycle market. This market is expected to grow significantly over the next decade.

As more Chinese EV manufacturers seek to balance domestic pressures with international opportunity, the Kazakhstan shipment may signal just the beginning of a larger regional pivot in the industry.
