Two-up touring doesn’t have to mean dropping twenty grand on a fully dressed flagship bike anymore. While traditional heavyweight tourers from Honda, Kawasaki, or BMW may still dominate the top end of the market, Triumph is flipping the script with its all-new 2025 Tiger Sport 800—a refined, performance-packed middleweight that delivers more than expected, for far less than you’d think.

Starting at just $12,495, the Tiger Sport 800 slots neatly into a segment once dominated by repurposed platforms and recycled engines. Unlike many of its Japanese and German rivals, this Triumph is built fresh from the ground up. And it shows—from its sharp, modern styling to its smooth, torquey triple-cylinder powertrain.

The New Standard in the Middleweight Class

At the heart of the Tiger Sport 800 is a brand-new triple engine producing 113 horsepower, placing it at the upper end of the middleweight touring category. But numbers only tell part of the story. This engine isn’t about peak power; it’s about rideability. With a strong, flat torque curve and excellent mid-range grunt, it’s for the kind of real-world riding most people actually do: quick weekend getaways, scenic backroad cruises, and long days in the saddle with a pillion onboard.

While rivals like the Honda NT1100 and Yamaha Tracer 9 offer great value, they can’t quite match the Tiger’s blend of sharp handling, premium feel, and engine character. And though BMW’s F 900 XR presents a strong case on paper, it’s often elusive in base spec and more expensive once you factor in essential add-ons.

Refinement Where It Counts

What really sets the Tiger Sport 800 apart, though, is its polish. Triumph’s ride-by-wire throttle mapping is among the smoothest in the business—something many brands still struggle with. Even as triples are naturally prone to high-rev buzz, Triumph’s latest generation mill is impressively well-balanced. The result is a bike that feels just as at home slicing through twisties as it does eating up highway miles.

Add to that an upright, comfortable riding position, ample wind protection, and touring-ready accessories, and you have a machine that punches far above its weight—and price class.

For Riders Who Want More Without Paying More

In an era where motorcycle prices keep climbing, the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 makes a compelling argument for smart spending. It offers big-bike capability, genuine comfort for two, and a modern spec sheet without the financial sting.

For couples or solo riders who want to go far without going broke, the Tiger Sport 800 isn’t just a smart choice—it might be the best one in its class.
