As the championship standings remain wide open following Marc Márquez’s Austin crash, the Tech3 duo will aim to capitalize on their momentum under Qatar’s spectacular floodlights.

The Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad heads to the Lusail International Circuit for this weekend’s Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar, the fourth round of the 2025 MotoGP season and the final overseas race before the European leg begins.

Both of the ridrs Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales arrive in Doha buoyed by their improved performances at Circuit of The Americas, where they made significant strides with their KTM RC16 machines.

Bastianini delivered his best result of the season in Texas, charging from 17th on the grid to finish seventh in Sunday’s main race. The Italian, who previously won at Lusail in 2022, looks forward to testing his KTM at one of his favourite circuits. “We took a good step forward in Austin,” said Bastianini. “Lusail is a track where we’ve had great moments, so I’m curious to see how we perform there with the KTM.”

Viñales also showed promising pace in Austin, qualifying directly to Q2 for the first time this season. Though his race result didn’t reflect his potential, the Spaniard who is a two-time Qatar winner (2017, 2021) remains optimistic. “I felt fast and competitive all weekend in Austin,” Viñales noted. “Qatar is a track I like, and racing under the lights is always special. We’ll keep working in the same direction.”

Team Manager Nicolas Goyon highlighted the team’s progress: “Both riders improved their feeling with the bike in Austin. Maverick’s Q2 appearance and Enea’s strong race pace show we’re moving forward. Lusail has suited our bike well in the past, and with the aerodynamic tests we conducted last week, we’re confident we can fight for strong results.”

The Qatar GP weekend begins Friday with FP1 at 12:00 local time, followed by evening practice at 16:15. Saturday features qualifying ahead of the 11-lap Tissot Sprint (17:54), with Sunday’s 22-lap Grand Prix scheduled for 17:15 after a warm-up session.
