Manuel Gonzalez delivered a masterclass performance at the season-opening Moto2 race, securing his debut victory for the IntactGP team in dominant fashion. The Spanish rider led from the third lap onwards, eventually crossing the finish line 2.787 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Aron Canet, to claim a well-deserved win.

The race began with Celestino Vietti making a stellar start from second on the grid, taking the lead into Turn 1 ahead of polesitter Gonzalez. Senna Agius also capitalized on a strong start, moving into third by overtaking Aron Canet on the opening lap.

Gonzalez initially attempted to reclaim the lead from Vietti on the second lap but was briefly repelled as the Italian rider fought back. However, Gonzalez made no mistakes on his next attempt, taking the lead on lap three and never looking back. From there, he steadily built a gap, pulling seven tenths clear of Vietti, who maintained a similar advantage over Agius in third.

The race was not without drama, as Agius closed in on Vietti and attempted a move, only to make contact that sent the Italian out of the race. Agius was handed a long lap penalty for the incident, dropping him to fourth and promoting Canet and Diogo Moreira into podium contention.

Canet, who had recovered from a poor start, secured a comfortable second place, while Agius fought back to claim the final podium spot. Moreira, who had been battling for third, narrowly missed out on a podium finish, crossing the line just three tenths behind Agius in fourth.

Further down the field, Marcos Ramirez held onto fifth place after a fierce battle with Barry Baltus, who finished sixth. Jake Dixon, making his debut with the Marc VDS team, took seventh, while rookie Dani Holgado impressed with an eighth-place finish.

Filip Salac and Alonso Lopez rounded out the top ten, with Lopez securing a solid result for the SpeedUp team. Gresini’s Albert Arenas finished 11th, followed by Deniz Oncu in 12th and Tony Arbolino in 13th. Rookie Adrian Huertas, transitioning from WorldSSP, finished 14th, while Mario Aji completed the points finishers in 15th.

Gonzalez’s victory marks a dream start to his campaign with IntactGP, showcasing his speed, consistency, and racecraft. The Moto2 championship promises more thrilling battles as the season progresses, with Gonzalez emerging as a serious title contender.

The next round will take place at Termas de Río Hondo in Argentina, where riders will look to build on their performances and continue their pursuit of glory.
