MotoStrada Porto’s ‘Bastard’ wins Indian Motorcycle’s ‘First 6’ Sport Chief RT competition, showcasing bold design, top-tier performance upgrades, and striking customization.

Indian Motorcycle crowned ‘Bastard’ by MotoStrada Porto as the ‘First 6’ Indian Sport Chief RT dealer customs winner. The public vote closed on February 11. The announcement took place on February 13 during the Salon Du 2 Roues show in Lyon, France.

A Showcase of Customization Potential

The ‘First 6’ Sport Chief RT dealer customs debuted at Moto Bike Expo in Italy. This coincided with the new Sport Chief RT’s announcement. Dealers had six weeks to complete their Club Style custom builds.

MotoStrada Porto, an exclusive Indian Motorcycle dealer in Portugal since 2015, took inspiration from Indian Motorcycle’s racing legacy. Their build, ‘Bastard,’ captivated fans with its aggressive stance, bold aesthetics, and a mix of modern and vintage styles.

Crafting the ‘Bastard’ – A Tribute to Performance and Rebellion

MotoStrada’s goal was to enhance the Sport Chief RT’s youthful and rebellious spirit. They kept modifications minimal yet impactful. They used as many genuine Indian Motorcycle parts and accessories as possible.

For performance upgrades, MotoStrada equipped the bike with Öhlins front forks and remote reservoir Öhlins rear shocks. They modified the fender to fit the new front end. The Sport Chief RT’s stock Brembo front callipers come with a matching Brembo master cylinder for the Indian FTR.

Additional performance enhancements included a high-flow air filter from Performance Machine, a Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hyde exhaust system, and Kineo spoked wheels from Italy. The bike also featured genuine Indian Motorcycle accessories such as handlebar risers, brake and clutch levers, a taller windshield, and the new PowerBand Audio Bluetooth speaker for the Indian Chief lineup.

A Complex Yet Stunning Paint Job

Inspired by King of Baggers and Superhooligan racers, ‘Bastard’ features a carbon and grey paint scheme. It has a checkered fade and gold accents. The design echoes classic Indian Motorcycle styling.

The painting process involved three stages: a carbon hydro-paint base, a grey overlay, and gold pinstriping. Each step risked ruining the previous layer. The customized seat matches the bike’s carbon-fiber aesthetic.

A Highly Competitive Contest

Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts across Europe voted in the competition. ‘Bastard’ won against two strong contenders. ‘No Comply Society’ by Krazy Horse in the UK was a rebellious, skate-culture-inspired custom. ‘Top Fuel’ by Indian Motorcycle Metz in France was a drag-racing-inspired powerhouse.

An Overwhelming Response from the Riding Community

“The response to the ‘First 6’ dealer customs has been incredible,” said Ola Stenegärd, Director of Design for Indian Motorcycle. “MotoStrada’s ‘Bastard’ embodies the spirit of performance, style, and individuality. I’m thrilled that the public voted, as choosing just one build would be impossible. Each bike had cool, innovative touches, great fabrication, and stunning paint. I was blown away by the work done in such a short time.”
