Aprilia RS-GP25 Impresses Again in Final Test at Buriram

The Aprilia RS-GP25 continues to show strong potential, with impressive performances in the final pre-season test at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram. Just as in Sepang, the Noale-based manufacturer made significant progress, fine-tuning its 2025 contender ahead of the MotoGP season opener.

Marco Bezzecchi led Aprilia’s efforts, securing P3 in the combined standings with a best lap of 1:29.060. The Italian focused on setup refinement, time attacks, and race simulations, gaining valuable insights into maximizing the RS-GP25’s performance. Bezzecchi initially clocked a 1:29.794 on Day 1 before making further strides on the final day of testing.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori was also hard at work, completing an intense development program. He logged 35 laps on Day 1 with a best time of 1:31.730 before improving to 1:31.207 on the second day. His primary focus was on electronics development to ensure Jorge Martín, who is recovering from right-hand surgery, returns to a competitive package.

Martín’s rehabilitation is progressing well, with the Spaniard aiming to be race-ready after his injury during the Malaysia test. Meanwhile, Trackhouse Racing’s Raúl Fernández pushed through his own physical struggles from a Sepang injury, finishing P13 overall. Rookie Ai Ogura impressed with his pace, securing P11 in the combined standings.

Marco Bezzecchi: “In these two days, I’ve learned a lot about how to extract the best from the RS-GP25. We had productive sessions, with strong time attacks and a sprint simulation, and I’m really happy. The bike is competitive, and the 2025 engine works great everywhere. Now, I can’t wait to go racing again!”

Lorenzo Savadori: “My focus has been on electronics to make sure Jorge returns to a highly competitive bike. The RS-GP25 is looking strong, and the 2025 engine is a clear step forward. While it’s just testing, both Marco and Ai Ogura showed great pace, which is promising.”

With Aprilia’s strong pre-season showing, the team heads into the 2025 MotoGP opener in Buriram (Feb 28 – Mar 2) with high expectations and a competitive machine ready to challenge the front runners.
