Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports, promoter of the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), has announced an expanded and extended partnership with tyre manufacturer Dunlop, solidifying a collaboration that began in 2016. From 2025, Dunlop will become the exclusive tyre supplier for the all-new FIM Production World Trophy, the entry-level category designed to provide a stepping stone into endurance racing.
The FIM Production World Trophy, a new addition to the EWC’s competitive pyramid, will feature 1000cc motorcycles that closely resemble their roadgoing counterparts, with only basic modifications allowed to keep costs low and ensure accessibility. Competitors in this category will share the track with riders from the Formula EWC and Superstock-based FIM Endurance World Cup, creating larger grids and enhancing the spectacle for fans.
Dunlop’s role as the exclusive tyre supplier for the Production World Trophy builds on its successful partnership with the Superstock category, which it has supplied since 2022. The collaboration has seen the Superstock class grow in competitiveness, with lap times decreasing and the quality of racing improving significantly. In 2024, five teams entered the season finale in contention for the title, showcasing the category’s thrilling unpredictability.
In addition to supporting the new Production World Trophy, Dunlop will continue to supply tyres to teams in the Superstock-based FIM Endurance World Cup and maintain its presence in the Formula EWC category, which remains an open tyre competition. The expanded partnership also includes a multi-year extension of the commercial agreement between WBD Sports and Dunlop, further strengthening their collaboration.
Jean-Baptiste Ley, Motorsport Events Director at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, praised Dunlop’s contribution to the championship: “Having supplied the Superstock-based FIM Endurance World Cup on an exclusive basis since 2022 to a very high standard, we know we can count on Dunlop as a tried and tested partner. It was therefore an obvious step to expand our alliance with Dunlop for it to become the exclusive tyre supplier to the all-new FIM Production World Trophy, a very exciting addition to the EWC Pyramid from 2025.”
Wim Van Achter, Motorsport Manager at Dunlop Motorcycle Europe, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded role: “We’re delighted to continue and expand our partnership with the FIM Endurance World Championship. Working with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports as one of the championship’s Official Partners, we’re excited to introduce the Production World Trophy in order to allow more teams to compete in an accessible and rewarding environment and create an even more thrilling spectacle for fans with bigger grids and more action.”
The 2025 EWC season will kick off with the iconic 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans, France, from 17-20 April. The championship will continue with the 8 Hours of Spa Motos (6-7 June), the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race (1-3 August), and conclude with the Bol d’Or 24-hour finale at Circuit Paul Ricard, France (18-21 September).
With Dunlop’s expanded involvement and the introduction of the FIM Production World Trophy, the 2025 EWC season promises to deliver even more excitement, accessibility, and competitive racing for teams and fans alike.
