With Round 3 of the 2024 MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) returning this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit, all eyes are on the exciting MSBK250 category. This round promises thrilling action, as top contenders Irfan Ardiansyah and Md Naqib Rifqi prepare to battle it out for supremacy in their respective classes.

In MSBK250 A, Indonesian rider Irfan Ardiansyah of the Honda HWN SCK Racing Team, #16, is leading the championship, sitting at the top of the standings with 70 points. He holds a narrow four-point lead over his teammate, Gerry Salim, #31. Despite being new to the MSBK, Irfan has adapted quickly to the Sepang circuit, delivering standout performances with two victories this season.

Looking forward to Round 3, Irfan is determined to maintain his lead.  “This season has been really good for me and I think there is no big difference compared to other championships except for the weather conditions in Round 2. The MSBK250 A race category is a highly competitive class and there is always a big group going on at the same pace,” Irfan said.

His balanced approach, focusing on both physical preparation and bike training, has been key to his success. “My goal for the season is to make it champion and I will go all out to work on that mission.”

Meanwhile, in MSBK250 B, Md Naqib Rifqi has been in top form, particularly after claiming double victories in the last round. After a third-place finish in Round 1, Naqib made a strong comeback in Round 2 with perfect scores, solidifying his position as a top contender in the category.

Heading into Round 3, Naqib is confident and focused. “So far, this season has been a great one and I am very happy with my results. There has been a lot of difference between round 1 and round 2, especially with what I have learnt so far. I also improved tremendously throughout.”

He emphasized the importance of fitness, explaining that his stamina training has been critical to maintaining consistency. “My aim for this round and season is to continue taking a bold stance among the front troops and also to put a fighting spirit against the A group,” he added.

As the riders gear up for this crucial round, the Sepang International Circuit is set to host an exciting weekend of intense competition. With Irfan aiming to defend his championship lead and Naqib pushing to keep up his winning streak, spectators can expect thrilling battles in both A and B categories.

Round 3 is shaping up to be a defining moment in the 2024 season, with local and international talents vying for championship glory. Fans can look forward to an action-packed weekend as the season heats up in this prestigious Malaysian motorsports series.
