From Sketch to Reality: A Transatlantic Journey of Customization and Passion.

The term “motorcycle” refers to a two-wheeled vehicle that is propelled by an engine and can travel wherever your imagination takes it. While this is going on, the world of custom motorcycles continues to evolve beyond the traditional norms that have been established.

The Spanish brand Tamarit Motorcycles is totally on board with this idea. When it comes to quick, fashionable bikes that are top-notch in every way, they have the “Moto Series” available. Furthermore, they provide a “Signature Series” that is custom-made to meet the individual needs of every client.

With a history of crafting over 150 bespoke Triumph customs, Tamarit has built a robust portfolio that inspires potential clients.

For Christopher, an American living in Scotland, they meticulously crafted the Triumph ‘Black Dragon,’ turning his vision into a stunning masterpiece. Build number 129, a Bonneville T100 by the name of Emerald, captivated Christopher.

Let’s have a look at the beginning of the process and the steps needed to unleash extraordinary creativity in the world of custom bikes.

Crafting Process

To start the project, Carmen, assigned to work with Christopher, began with sketches and storyboards. Over several detailed conversations, they translated his ideas into hand-drawn designs.

These evolved into a digital rendering, which Quique and the team evaluated for feasibility and adjustments. With Christopher’s feedback and final color choices confirmed, the team synchronized efforts for a seamless build.

Meticulous Execution

The process involved acquiring a donor bike from the UK to navigate registration complexities. The bike underwent a journey to Spain, where it was transformed before making its way back to the UK as a completed masterpiece.

The team carefully disassembled the bike, setting aside crucial parts and preparing others for sale or recycling. They tracked every step using in-house software, providing bi-weekly updates to the client.

“Tamarit continually improves every motorcycle,” emphasized Carmen. “We evolve through weekly team meetings and leverage technology from Matías to optimize our processes.”

Approximately 27 skilled individuals, including internal teams and external craftsmen, collaborated on each build. The Emerald, which was essential to this project, served as inspiration for the team’s extensive chassis modifications.

This included converting the rear to mono-shock, extending the swingarm, reinforcing the chassis with new bracing, and developing a custom mounting setup. They replaced much of the subframe with a new twin-post design that effortlessly matched the base, creating an eye-catching floating effect.

Innovative Design

The bike featured a rear fender mounted on the swingarm and a rear wheel converted into a full moon disc adorned with an internal gold decorative piece.

The front end displayed a highly polished spoked wheel, a black blade fender with a gold strut brace, meticulously rebuilt and polished forks, and clip-on bars with sturdy chromed springs.

Robust triple clamps in chrome and gold provided space for small gauges and indicator lights. The front fairing seamlessly blended retro styling with modernity, housing an advanced LED headlight.

The meticulously refurbished fuel tank had Tamarit’s badging, intricate chrome and gold-plated accents, and Christopher’s favorite chrome, black, and gold-machined cap.

“Classic carburetor motorcycles embody a unique romance,” reflected Carmen. The team amplified this sentiment through an extensive engine overhaul, upgrading the cooling system, and replacing the oil cooler with chassis-mounted coils.

They adorned the covers with chrome and gold, added precision-machined velocity stacks, and fitted a custom exhaust system, ensuring a powerful and melodious engine note.

Upon completion, select team members accompanied the ‘Black Dragon’ to London and a Scottish village. Christopher was then thrilled with the result and immediately embarked on a thrilling 20-minute debut ride. A free man aboard his fire-snorting black and gold steed—beware the Black Dragon.
