Get ready for the thrill! The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale will shine during the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship’s final weekend at Spain’s Circuito de Jerez from October 18-20. This third edition brings a change of scenery. It creates excitement with a new venue for the talented bLU cRU youngsters on the international racing stage.

Yamaha’s bLU cRU Program

At the heart of this thrilling event is Yamaha’s bLU cRU program, an award-winning initiative to nurture and propel the next generation of young riding talent. Open to riders aged 14-18, the program acts as the foundation of the Yamaha Racing pyramid. Participants earn their spots in the SuperFinale after a competitive season in their respective national R3 Cups and Challenges, creating a pathway for emerging talents to showcase their skills on a global scale.

Venue Shift to Circuito de Jerez

The Yamaha R3 European SuperFinale has historically taken place at Portugal’s Autodromo do Algarve in Portimão. However, the 2024 edition brings a change of scenery with Circuito de Jerez playing host to the event. This shift is significant, aligning the talented bLU cRU youngsters with the final round of the WorldSBK calendar. As a result, we can expect this event to draw large crowds and garner extra media attention, elevating the experience for both participants and spectators.

Unique Experience for Young Competitors

Competitors have a dedicated ‘village’ in Jerez for support. bLU cRU Rider Coach Lorenzo Alfonsi is there for mentorship. He ensures the young riders are ready for challenges during the weekend. Additionally, participants will have the unique and privileged opportunity to engage with Yamaha’s elite WorldSBK and WorldSSP riders. This interaction goes beyond mere observation, offering a platform for gaining profound insights and drawing inspiration from the wealth of experience possessed by these seasoned professionals.

The SuperFinale Experience

The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale at Circuito de Jerez promises an action-packed weekend for both participants and spectators. Young competitors get plenty of track time with Free Practice and Qualifying. The highlight is the two SuperFinale races. These races not only showcase skills but also offer a platform to make a lasting impression internationally.

Pathway to Success

The R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale is more than just a thrilling competition. It serves as a crucial evaluation point for Yamaha Motor Europe to identify and reward riders competing at the national level. The system has proven successful, exemplified by the journey of the 2022 SuperFinale winner, Emiliano Ercolani. After winning the SuperFinale, Ercolani went on to be crowned as the R3 bLU cRU European Champion in 2023. Now, in 2024, he takes a step up to the FIM Supersport 300 class with a fully supported ride, showcasing the effectiveness of Yamaha’s talent development program.

The SuperFinale winner gets a spot in the 2025 FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup. The Yamaha Racing Committee picks another standout rider for a place in the prestigious World Cup.

Stepping Up to World Level

This event is a stepping stone for those aiming for the world level. Five riders from the 2023 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale have joined the 2024 FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup, highlighting the SuperFinale as a launchpad for young talents.
