Jorge Martin from Pramac Racing issues a warning to Ducati: If not promoted to the main team, he is ready to leave.
Despite an impressive MotoGP 2023 season, Ducati retained Enea Bastianini, leaving Martin injured while riding alongside MotoGP World Champion Francesco Bagnaia.
While Martin accepted Ducati’s decision for the upcoming season, he’s clear that if they deny him a chance, even after a great performance in the next season, he’ll actively explore opportunities with other teams after 2024.
“For 2025, my priority is 100% focused on joining the main team. I know Ducati’s machinery and have been part of their Italian team’s project. However, if they don’t want me or think I’m not the best fit, I’ll explore other opportunities,” said Martin.
In 2024, Martin partners with former Yamaha rider Franco Morbidelli, both riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP24. This collaboration sets the stage for Martin to prove himself and make a strong case for Ducati’s main team.
Martin’s determination adds an intriguing layer to the MotoGP narrative. As the 2024 season unfolds, fans will watch Martin’s performance and how Ducati responds to the ultimatum. They know a talented rider might slip away if they don’t recognize his potential. The upcoming season promises intense on-track battles and off-track drama.
