In a surprising twist at the Grand Prix (GP) Malaysia 2023, Syarifuddin Azman has left his racing destiny in the hands of his team manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin from ZK Racing.
As Damok bids farewell to the MT Helmets-MSI team, uncertainties loom for the upcoming season, yet he stays hopeful about grabbing another shot at international racing.
Reviewing his performance, Damok voiced confidence in both his skills and the season’s bike improvements. Despite the progress, the seasoned rider anxiously awaits the final word from his manager on his racing future.
“I’m waiting for my manager’s decision. Where to? I don’t know,” Damok shared after the first free practice at the GP Malaysia.
Ranked 27th with a lap time of 2’14.258 seconds in the first practice, Damok commits to focusing on the remaining three rounds this season. His next move? That’s up to his manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
“I hope for good news about the next season, but I leave that to my manager. Speculating would just add pressure and distract me from my goals,” Damok clarified.
Despite the challenges of his debut season, Damok aims for a stronger showing if given the chance next year. Ready to surprise, he stated, “If given the chance next year, I’ll aim higher. This year was tough, being my first. If I get the opportunity next year, I want to make a statement.”
As Damok navigates his racing future, anticipation grows in the motorsports community. Zulfahmi Khairuddin and the ZK Racing team hold the key to Damok’s path, deciding whether he continues making waves on the global racing scene.
