American Indian Motorcycle gets creative with FTR 1200 Artist Series tank covers presented at the Wheels & Waves event.

Indian FTR 1200 Artist Series

The custom motorcycle scene is getting more and more impact on motorcycle manufacturers. And Indian Motorcycle as one of the biggest names in the industry understands that. At the recent Wheels & Waves event in Biarritz the American brand revealed something dedicated to riders looking for something different. This limited edition is known as the Indian Motorcycle FTR 1200 Artist Series.

Indian asked five world-renowned artists to customize the fuel tank covers of the FTR 1200. The customized FTR 1200 Artist Series fuel tanks were revealed during the Wheels & Waves.

Let’s get to know the FTR 1200 Artist Series one by one:

“Cab Dragon” – Bold and colorful, containing elements from Caballero’s past collection of sketches. By skater Steve Caballero

“A New Day” – Draws inspiration from RISK’s transition from graffiti artist to color field artist. By graffiti artist Risk

“Meant To Tell You” – Inspired by the sense of freedom one feels when riding a motorcycle. By ThankYouX

“Rising From The Ashes” – A design with strong symbolism which gives a nod to the rich history of Indian Motorcycle. By Adam Turman

“The Devil Within” – Expressing the duality of riding motorbikes. By D*Face

Indian Motorcycle will produce 100 examples of each fuel tank cover design. The fuel tank covers will fit the flat track inspired FTR 1200 and FTR 1200 S. Look for them on Indian Motorcycle dealerships around the world.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
