We’ve got reports from Europe that one of Honda’s most popular and innovative models, the X-ADV, is being included in a recall action. According to a press release issued by the European Commission, the X-ADV might suffer a power loss when riding at low speeds for a long period of time.
This recent recall affects bikes produced between 26/01/2017 and 04/10/2018.
When the motorcycle is continuously ridden at low speed, the heat generated affects the PPTC (polymer positive temperature coefficient) device of the ECU and the motorcycle may enter into fail safe mode. This makes it impossible to shift gear and the driving force may be lost and it will not be possible to continue riding.
At the moment we don’t have confirmation if this problem affects the X-ADV bikes sold outside Europe, specifically the ones sold in Southeast Asia, but we will update this article as soon as we’ve got more information.
But even if this adventure scooter suffers with any of these problems, that didn’t prevent MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez from using one to make a music!
If you feel your Honda X-ADV / X ADV is suffering any of these problems, please contact your official Honda Motorcycles dealership.
