Although we still don’t know the circuits that will get the honors of being on the first ever electric motorcycle world championship Moto E, in 2019, Dorna has released some information about this new class that will use Energica Ego electric superbikes.

The Moto E championship will have three official test dates: 23 to 25 of November the first test, from 13 to 15 of March the second test will be held and from 23 to the 25th of April the third and final test happens. All tests will happen at the Jerez racetrack.

Meanwhile, 18 Energica Ego race bikes are already confirmed to race in the first ever electric motorcycle world championship next season, with 12 teams also confirmed.

The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) racing team is the most recent addition to the roster, and they will have one rider. With one rider there’s also the Dynavolt Intact GP, Ajo Motorsport, SIC58 Squadra Corse, Pons Racing and Marc VDS. With two riders we will see Gresini Racing, Pramac Racing, Tech3, Ángel Nieto, Esponsorama Racing and LCR team.

The next step for the Moto E championship is the reveal of the racetracks, an announcement that will happen in Misano, and then, at the Motorland Aragon round, Dorna will reveal the final list of participating riders.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
