In case you missed out, UM Motorcycles made an announcement few months back that it would be entering the adventure bike segment in India, topping one of the largest market in Asia. Seems like the statement will be made into reality as the brand has been running some tests as both the UM DSR-II and Hypesport have been spotted in India not too long ago.
Not to mention, the pictures were taken at what appears to be the company’s dealerships. The DSR-II is an adventure tourer whereas the Hypesport is a Supermoto. Both bikes are assumed to have a lower engine than 223cc.
In correspondence with the pictures shown, the UM DSR-II appears to have wired wheels. The UM Hypesport will be getting alloy wheels. Also, it is expected that both models would feature brake discs at both ends. What is not confirmed yet is whether the bikes would get an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).
UM Motorcycles are definitely taking it up a notch with the new adventure bikes, expanding the horizons of the Asian market- the dominant market in terms of commute. There is no doubt that the sector would be enhanced with the debut of the DSR-II and Hypesport, it would eventually lead to many firms in the nation joining in the bandwagon to produce adventure motorcycles of their own. This is perhaps the small step to a bigger world.
