In a new report recently published by Global Market Insights, it is said that the global market for electric motorcycle and scooters will be worth over RM87 billions when we reach the year 2024.
According to Global Market Insights, this will happen because of “low noise levels, high mechanical efficiency, easy incorporation of regenerative braking, and relatively economical maintenance costs are among the chief benefits over the conventional internal combustion engines (ICE) which will propel the electric motorcycles & scooters market growth over the forecast timeframe”.
In 2017 scooters dominated the electric market with an 85% share. They are light, easy to use, and offer greater maneuverability to ride in congested areas like in the cities, where traffic is a big problem.
The report also goes on to say that Government incentives to buy electric motorcycles and scooters will boost up the sales of these vehicles, as well as better batteries that will allow longer range and faster charging times.
It seems that the electric two-wheelers are growing even faster than most predicted.
