Dani Pedrosa is probably the unluckiest rider currently racing in MotoGP. Throughout the years the Spanish rider has suffered countless injuries, some of them making him lose the chance to fight for the title when he was considered one of the favorites.
And last Sunday, during the MotoGP race in Jerez, Pedrosa had another proof that he’s really unlucky.
When Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo were fighting for second position, Dani Pedrosa saw an opening to go from fifth to seond at that moment, but Lorenzo, after battling Dovizioso, returned to the race line really quick and without looking, and made contact with Pedrosa who was on the inside line.
After that, Lorenzo’s bike went to the ground and clipped Andrea Dovizioso, while Pedrosa flew high above the ground on a vicious high-side. Just by pure luck he wasn’t injured.
Race Director Mike Webb decided to not penalize anyone given that Race Direction considered all the contacts were a “race incident”.
But Dani Pedrosa felt otherwise and tried to talk with Mike Webb, who was unavailable to meet the Repsol Honda rider. That decision got Pedrosa furious and asking for more respect
“Mike Webb didn’t want to see me. I want this decision to be altered, because this isn’t how things are done. I deserve more respect!”, said Pedrosa when being interviewed by Spanish TV chanel Movistar.
