That’s a wrap for the 2017 MotoGP season! The curtains have closed in the Spanish Grand Prix just yesterday and it was reigning champion Marc Marquez that capped the championship with his fourth win on the Spanish tracks in Valencia.

Marquez bagged yet another phenomenal victory for Repsol Honda Team and definitely proved his status as an acclaimed rider. Rival Andrea Dovizioso was also on the run for his win but he crashed out of the race, giving the Spaniard major confidence in securing the title.

The race was dominated by Respol Honda Team through winner Dani Pedrosa, giving the team much to celebrate in the end of the championship. Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Johann Zarco clinched the fastest lap of the race.

Not to mention, Marquez became the youngest four-time champion in history at the age of 24 years and 254 days, rewriting Mike Hailwood’s record at 25 years and 107 days at 1965.

“That save will go down in history and that elbow gave us the title,” Marquez told Movistar television.

“I told myself ‘I won’t let go even if the bike flips, if I have to get hurt then this is the time to do so.'”

“Dovi has been a very strong rival. I learned a lot of things from him,” Marquez added.

“I have had a lot of stress this year, it’s been very rough. I hadn’t confessed this before, but during a period of the season I lost some hair … it’s tough, but you get through it with the team you have around you.”

Congratulations Marc Marquez on a spectacular performance this year!
