Hakim Danish is ready to turn a new page at the Indonesian Grand Prix (GP) after a challenging weekend at the previous round at Mobility Resort Motegi, Japan.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider is looking to capitalize on his experience at Motegi to return to competitive action. He will be competing at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit for the second round of the 2026 Moto3 World Championship Asian Tour series this weekend.
Despite still recovering from a shoulder injury following three crashes at the Japanese GP, Hakim Danish remains focused on returning to his best form. He also wants to continue scoring points to strengthen his position in the championship.
Experience in Mandalika Could Give Him an Advantage
Mandalika is no stranger to the Terengganu-born racer. Hakim Danish had previously competed at the venue when he participated in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC) about four years ago.
This experience will help him understand the layout and character of the circuit that will be the competition arena this week. This knowledge will also be important in Hakim Danish and the team’s efforts to find the best machine settings, especially during free practice and qualifying sessions.
However, the Mandalika circuit still offers its own challenges. Several high-speed corners and technical sections require precision and good machine control.
Hakim Danish also identified the first and last sectors as areas that needed attention. Both sectors featured sharp turns that demanded improvements in terms of speed and performance.

Shoulder Recovery Remains a Key Priority
Apart from technical preparation, physical fitness is Hakim Danish’s top priority ahead of the Indonesian GP. He is currently undergoing intensive physiotherapy sessions to help with the recovery process from his shoulder injury. This effort is important to ensure he is in a more comfortable condition before starting the free training session on Friday.
With the remaining races of the season becoming increasingly important, Hakim Danish wants to continue collecting points and maintain his position among the best riders.
After collecting 105 points, he is now in seventh place overall in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship. Therefore, the Indonesian GP is an important opportunity to regain momentum after the disappointing result in Japan.
ZK Racing will continue to provide support to Hakim Danish and the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team. Preparations from the physical, technical and strategic aspects will be given attention to help the young national rider face the challenges in Mandalika.
Hakim Danish Determined to Bounce Back in Indonesia
Commenting on his preparations ahead of the race, Hakim Danish said he wanted to forget the incident in Motegi and focus fully on the next challenge.
“I want to completely put the crashes in Japan behind me. What happened at Motegi is already in the past, and it has given me valuable lessons to help me move forward.
This week, we will be racing at the Indonesian GP at the Mandalika Circuit. I have raced here before when I competed in the Asia Talent Cup around four years ago, so I already have some experience and understanding of the characteristics of this circuit.
The track has several high-speed corners as well as some technical sections, particularly in the first and final sectors, which feature some tight corners.
So, I need to improve my speed and performance in those areas. As for my shoulder, I will try to recover as quickly as possible through physiotherapy.
Of course, I am very excited to get back racing and give my best this week in Mandalika, with the aim of delivering a result that will make the team and our fans back home proud.” he said.
Zulfahmi Khairuddin Urges Danish to Stay Focused
SIC Racing team manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, also stressed the importance of Hakim Danish forgetting the incident in Japan and regaining confidence ahead of the race in Indonesia.
According to him, the team wants to ensure that the bitter experience in Motegi does not affect the rider’s focus and confidence when returning to riding a Moto3 machine.
“The most important thing for Danish at the moment is to hit the reset button and put the incidents at Motegi behind him. We do not want the previous crashes to affect his focus or confidence on the bike.
Mandalika presents a different challenge. Danish’s previous experience at this circuit gives him a slight advantage, but a Moto3 bike demands a much higher level of precision. The team is working closely with him, together with the physiotherapy team, to ensure his shoulder is in the most comfortable condition possible before the sessions begin.
We want Danish to gradually build his race rhythm and take a more measured approach to avoid any unwanted incidents during practice. He needs to remain calm, manage his emotions wisely and make the most of every opportunity throughout this race weekend.” he said.
With previous experience at Mandalika and the continued support of his team, Hakim Danish will now concentrate on his recovery and race preparations.
Malaysian motorsport fans will be hoping the young rider can rediscover his competitive form at the Indonesian GP and continue his campaign in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship.
