Ducati has officially introduced the new Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera, expanding its single-cylinder street motard family with a more aggressive and premium variant. Set to arrive at European Ducati dealerships from June 2026, the new model combines a striking blacked-out aesthetic with advanced electronics and Ducati’s high-performance Superquadro Mono engine.

Positioned as the latest addition to the Hypermotard 698 Mono lineup, the Nera variant enhances both the visual appeal and riding experience of Ducati’s lightweight street motard platform.

Total black styling with Ducati performance character

The new Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera features a distinctive total black livery accented by Ducati’s signature red details. The combination of black bodywork, red frame, and Ducati Red wheels gives the motorcycle a sharp and aggressive appearance that reflects its sporty personality.

Further enhancing the design are the homologated Termignoni steel silencers, finished in black with red highlights to complement the overall styling. Ducati has also equipped the motorcycle with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) as standard, improving both performance and riding comfort.

Ducati’s most advanced single-cylinder engine

At the heart of the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera is Ducati’s Superquadro Mono engine, producing 77.5 hp and capable of revving up to 10,250 rpm. Derived directly from the twin-cylinder engine used in the 1299 Panigale, the Superquadro Mono inherits several high-performance technologies including:

  • 116 mm bore piston
  • Titanium intake valves
  • Steel exhaust valves
  • Desmodromic valve timing system

Ducati describes the Superquadro Mono as the most sophisticated and highest-performing production single-cylinder road engine ever built.

Lightweight chassis designed for maximum fun

The Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera was developed with one clear objective: delivering maximum riding excitement whether on twisty roads, racetracks, or urban streets.

The motorcycle weighs just 151 kg ready to ride without fuel, thanks to lightweight engineering solutions such as a variable-section trellis frame, aluminium-flanged brake discs, and cast wheels. The chassis is paired with a fully adjustable rear shock absorber connected through a progressive linkage system.

This lightweight setup is designed to provide agile handling, responsive cornering, and classic Supermotard-style riding characteristics.

Advanced electronics inspired by the Panigale V4

Ducati has equipped the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera with one of the most advanced electronics packages in its category. The system includes several rider aids derived from the Panigale V4 platform, specifically adapted for the single-cylinder motard.

Key electronic features include:

  • ABS Cornering with Slide-by-Brake function
  • Ducati Traction Control
  • Ducati Wheelie Control
  • Engine Brake Control
  • Ducati Power Launch
  • Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down

The electronics are designed not only to improve safety and performance, but also to help less experienced riders explore Supermotard riding techniques with greater confidence.

For riders seeking even more performance, Ducati also offers a racing Termignoni exhaust system intended for track use. The system adds an additional 7 horsepower and activates a dedicated Wheelie Assist strategy, helping riders maintain controlled wheelies through electronic torque management.

Ducati Performance accessories and riding experiences

Owners can further customise the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera through Ducati Performance accessories, including billet-machined components, racing footpegs, special seats, and aluminium licence plate holders.

Ducati also highlighted its DRE Road riding courses, where riders can experience the Hypermotard lineup under professional instruction. Test ride bookings and accessory configuration options are available through Ducati’s official website.

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera will be available across European Ducati dealerships starting from June 2026, with pricing beginning at €13,990.
