Boon Siew Honda has refreshed its cruiser lineup with a new colour option for the Honda Rebel 500, now available in Matte Gun Powder Black Metallic for the Malaysian market.

The updated colour scheme will be available at authorised Boon Siew Honda dealerships nationwide starting at the end of March, with the recommended retail price remaining unchanged at RM33,899, excluding road tax, insurance and registration.

Apart from the new colour option, the Rebel 500 continues unchanged mechanically. The cruiser is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, paired with Honda’s PGM-Fi fuel injection system and an assist and slipper clutch.

The engine produces 45.59 hp at 8,500 rpm and 43.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, with tuning focused on delivering stronger torque in the lower rev range for smoother and more relaxed riding.

Suspension duties are handled by non-adjustable telescopic forks at the front, while the rear features a pair of Showa shock absorbers with nitrogen reservoirs, adjustable for preload. Braking is managed by single hydraulic discs at both front and rear, supported by a two-channel ABS system as standard.

The Rebel 500 rides on 16-inch wheels at both ends, fitted with 130/90 front and 150/80 rear tyres, contributing to its low and stable stance. Seat height is set at a rider-friendly 690 mm, while the motorcycle weighs 190 kg and carries 11.2 litres of fuel in its tank.

Lighting on the Rebel 500 is fully LED, and rider information is displayed through a 100 mm round LCD instrument panel with a negative backlight, showing key data such as speed, gear position and fuel consumption.

With the introduction of the new Matte Gun Powder Black Metallic finish, Boon Siew Honda continues to keep the Rebel 500 lineup fresh while maintaining the cruiser’s accessible performance and distinctive minimalist styling.
