OMOWAY’s flagship self-balancing electric motorcycle, the OMO X, has secured international recognition after winning the 2025 Better Design Award (BDA) in the AI & Robotics Design category. The achievement places the brand at the forefront of embodied intelligence within the fast-evolving two-wheeled electric vehicle industry.

The Better Design Award, supported by the World Design Organization, drew more than 15,000 entries from over 60 countries. Judged by an international panel representing nations including Japan, Denmark and Finland, the OMO X advanced through three competitive rounds before emerging as the category winner.

The award recognises OMOWAY’s integration of advanced technology, user-focused engineering and bold industrial design. Central to the OMO X’s appeal is its distinctive “Interstellar Fission” design language, combined with a multi-transform modular architecture that blends aesthetics with intelligent functionality.

Visually, the OMO X adopts a futuristic silhouette inspired by fighter jets, featuring sharp geometric lines, minimalist body panels and a low-slung stance. Wide tyres and a long wheelbase give it a commanding road presence, while the stripped-back design ensures every element serves a functional purpose.

Technically, the OMO X stands out as the world’s first mass-produced electric motorcycle equipped with self-balancing capability, a feature long considered one of the industry’s most complex engineering challenges. OMOWAY developed the system from the ground up, integrating perception sensors, computational control, balance algorithms and execution systems into a unified architecture.

The motorcycle is powered by OMOWAY’s proprietary HALO intelligent platform, forming the backbone of its software-hardware integration. Beyond its self-balancing technology, the OMO X introduces a variable “Multi-Morphology Module”, allowing the bike to transform between multiple riding configurations. Designed to suit commuting, leisure riding, shopping, parenting and touring scenarios, it can shift between urban commuter, street-oriented motorcycle and long-distance cruiser modes.

According to OMOWAY, the OMO X is more than just a new electric motorcycle, it represents the company’s broader vision of future smart mobility. The brand plans to expand its intelligent product lineup, aiming to set new global standards in smart industrial design while delivering innovative mobility experiences worldwide.
