Set within the historic surroundings of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 was officially presented in Siena, launching its 2026 Moto2 World Championship campaign alongside the MotoGP team. The venue, just steps from Piazza del Campo, symbolised tradition, ambition, and continuity for the Pramac–Yamaha racing project.

The presentation coincided with two major milestones for the organization: 25 years of competition in MotoGP and 60 years as a company. While the ceremonial setting reflected the team’s heritage, the focus heading into 2026 is firmly on consolidation and structured development as Yamaha’s wider MotoGP project enters its next phase.

Building on a Learning Year

The 2026 season marks the second year of competition for the Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 project following its debut in 2025. After a maiden campaign centred on learning, building structure, and gaining experience in one of the most competitive classes in world championship racing, the team now returns with clear ambitions to establish itself as a consistent front-runner.

Continuity remains a cornerstone of the programme. Gino Borsoi continues as Team Director, with Alex De Angelis once again overseeing operations as Team Manager. Their leadership ensures alignment with the broader Pramac–Yamaha structure and a strong emphasis on performance, development, and rider growth.

Riders and Technical Package

On track, Izan Guevara remains a key reference for the team. The Spanish rider’s experience and race-winning pedigree are expected to play a central role in pushing the project forward in its second year.

Joining him for 2026 is Alberto Fernández, who brings fresh motivation and talent to the line-up as he takes on a significant step in his professional career.

Both riders will compete aboard Boscoscuro machinery, continuing the technical collaboration with the Italian constructor. The partnership between Pramac Racing, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., and Boscoscuro remains focused on developing competitive packages while supporting riders on their pathway toward the premier class.

Blu Cru at the Core

At the heart of the project is Yamaha’s Blu Cru programme, the team’s title sponsor and a cornerstone of Yamaha’s global racing philosophy. Designed to identify, support, and develop young talent, Blu Cru forms the foundation of Yamaha’s racing pyramid, with MotoGP as the ultimate goal. Within this structure, the Moto2 team plays a crucial role in preparing riders for the highest level of competition.

Paolo Pavesio, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing, underlined the importance of the project: “The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 project represents a fundamental pillar of Yamaha’s long-term racing strategy. After a first season focused on building foundations, 2026 marks an important step forward, strengthening the link between BLU CRU and MotoGP.”

Guevara expressed confidence heading into his second season with the team, citing continuity and experience as key strengths, while Fernández described the opportunity as a major step forward in his career, praising the team’s trust and ambition.

As the 2026 season approaches, Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 enters the new campaign with confidence, clear objectives, and a shared commitment to growth, ready to build on its foundations and take the next step in the Moto2 World Championship.
