The new 2025 Moto2 World Champion, Diogo Moreira, has added another accolade to his historic season after being officially crowned the winner of the 2025 Triumph Triple Trophy. Fans around the world recognised the Brazilian rider’s outstanding performances throughout the year, voting him the clear favourite in the prestigious award.

Moreira, who made history as the first Brazilian rider to win the Moto2 World Championship, earned the highest overall points from the fan-driven Triumph Triple Trophy. He was shortlisted eight times and topped the weekly vote on five occasions, closing the season with 51 points, ahead of rivals Manuel Gonzalez and Jake Dixon. His reward is a bespoke, custom-liveried Triumph Triple Trophy Street Triple 765 RS, the roadster equipped with the same 765cc triple-engine architecture used in Moto2.

The 2025 edition of the Trophy saw an impressive turnout, with over 861,000 fan votes cast via the official MotoGP Instagram channel throughout the season.

A Trophy That Celebrates More Than Race Wins

First introduced in 2020, the Triumph Triple Trophy recognises standout performances across Moto2, not just victories, but also moments of resilience, consistency, and brilliance on track.

Each race weekend, three riders are shortlisted and fans vote for their favourite, with points awarded according to the numbers of Triumph’s 765cc triple engine:

  • 7 points – most fan votes
  • 6 points – second most votes
  • 5 points – third most votes

For 2025, Triumph added a new element, a free fan prize draw giving supporters the chance to win their own Triumph Triple Trophy Street Triple 765 RS, identical to the machine awarded to the winning rider.

Moreira received his customised prize bike at the 2025 Moto2 season finale in Valencia, becoming the fifth rider to win the Triumph-backed award before stepping up to MotoGP next season.

Reactions from the Champion and Triumph

Speaking after receiving the trophy, Moreira said he was overwhelmed and grateful: “I am super happy to win this Triumph Triple Trophy Street Triple 765 RS. This has been my best season ever and I’m so proud. Thank you to all the fans who voted—it means a lot. First, I need to get my licence, then I’ll try a few laps with the bike before keeping it at home!”

Triumph Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent praised Moreira for an outstanding year: “Congratulations to Diogo Moreira on this superb achievement. Not only is he the first-ever Brazilian World Champion, but he also won the popular vote. He chased down Manuel Gonzalez early in the season, took the lead at Portimão, and never looked back. We wish him the best as he moves up to MotoGP.”

Sargent also congratulated the fan who won their own Street Triple 765 RS, celebrating the strong engagement from the global MotoGP community.

The Prize Bike: A Roadster Inspired by Moto2 Engineering

The Triumph Triple Trophy Street Triple 765 RS features Triumph’s acclaimed 765cc liquid-cooled triple engine, the same configuration that powers every machine in the Moto2 world championship. Built and customised at Triumph’s global headquarters in Hinckley, the bike stands as a rare collector’s piece linking road performance with Moto2 racing heritage.
