11th CSR Initiative Extends Support to the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO)

In its ongoing commitment to giving back to society, iMotorbike carried out its 11th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with a meaningful visit to the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) office in Petaling Jaya. The visit aimed to provide support through donations of essential supplies to assist the organisation’s continuous efforts in empowering and protecting women and children in crisis.

Established in 1982, WAO is Malaysia’s first domestic violence shelter and has since grown to become the largest service provider for domestic violence survivors in the country. The organisation plays a vital role in advocating for women’s rights and equality while providing refuge, emotional support, and legal aid to survivors of abuse.

WAO’s vision is to create a society that upholds substantive equality, where every woman enjoys her full human rights in all aspects of life. Its mission centers on promoting respect, protection, and fulfilment of equal rights for women and working toward the elimination of discrimination and violence against women.

Through its wide-ranging objectives, WAO provides temporary refuge for women and children experiencing physical, sexual, or emotional violence, while offering emotional, social, and aftercare support. The organisation also conducts research, advocacy, and awareness campaigns to tackle the root causes of gender-based violence and inequality.

During the visit, the iMotorbike team met with WAO representatives and handed over donations of daily essentials. While the shelter location remains confidential for security and privacy reasons, to safeguard the women and children under WAO’s protection, the team expressed their deep respect and admiration for the organisation’s unwavering work in empowering survivors and promoting equality.

This initiative further reinforces iMotorbike’s belief that giving back to the community extends beyond material aid and it’s also about standing in solidarity with causes that create lasting social impact.
