The FIM MotoE World Championship is bracing for its most dramatic chapter yet as the grid heads to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Round 6 of the season. With just two rounds left, the title fight is finely balanced, literally between two Italian stars locked on equal points.
Casadei vs Baldassarri: Deadlock at the Summit
Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) both sit on 132 points, sharing the lead of the standings. Casadei has shown flashes of dominance with victories this season, while Baldassarri has built his campaign on relentless consistency, remarkably, without a single win yet. Their duel promises fireworks, with 50 points on the line across Misano’s two races.
The Chasing Pack
Just behind, compatriot Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team) lurks 10 points adrift. His early-season form has faded, he hasn’t tasted the podium since Assen, but he remains in the hunt. Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE) will arrive with momentum after securing his second podium in Barcelona, while Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE) is always a threat at Misano. The 2019 World Cup winner knows this track intimately and will be desperate to recover from his late crash last time out.
Danger Men with Momentum
Oscar Gutierrez (MSI Racing Team) could be a wildcard. The Spaniard returns to the circuit where he famously delivered a double win in 2024, and will be eyeing his first podium of the year since the season opener. Likewise, Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) comes in buoyed by back-to-back victories that finally kick-started his campaign after a tough injury-hit start. He now sits in sixth place in the standings and carries significant momentum.
Further Back, Still Fighting
Andrea Mantovani (KLINT Forward Factory Team) faces a recovery mission after another costly DNF left him 23 points off the leaders. Meanwhile, Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) will line up with extra motivation, Misano was the scene of his crowning glory in 2024, and the Spaniard will want to rekindle that magic this weekend.
Misano: The Decider Before the Decider
Misano has been a fixture on the MotoE calendar since the series’ inception, and it consistently delivers drama. With the grand finale looming, Round 6 is not just another race weekend; it’s a title-defining battleground.
Casadei and Baldassarri line up tied at the top. Zaccone, Spinelli, Ferrari, Granado, and others wait to pounce. With 50 points on offer, Misano will either crown a clear favourite or tighten the title fight even further heading into the season finale.
