With 16 races completed and 21 podium finishes collected in the 2025 MotoGP season, Álex Márquez has proven himself as one of the most consistent riders on the grid. While his brother Marc Márquez has nearly sealed the championship, Álex remains mathematically the only other contender and he’s already setting sights on the future.

Today, Gresini Racing and Ducati confirmed that Álex Márquez will ride a full factory-spec Ducati Desmosedici GP starting in 2026, while continuing to represent BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP. The move marks a significant milestone in Álex’s career and for the independent team’s continued rise.

Álex Márquez #73: “It’s an honour to be racing on a factory bike with Team Gresini. The team has been working impeccably for a few seasons now, and I believe this is a reward for everyone, for myself and the whole team. This is another step forward towards our dreams and doing even better in 2026. I’d like to thank Nadia, the team, and of course Gigi and Ducati, who have made me feel important at every moment.”

Nadia Padovani Gresini – Team Owner, Gresini Racing: “This is news of great importance for Gresini Racing. I would like to thank Ducati and Eng. Dall’Igna for the trust placed in Alex and in our team. The results achieved this year, and in previous seasons, have led us to reach this great milestone. We are happy that Alex, starting next year, will ride with a factory bike. As a team, we are ready to take another step toward excellence. 2025 will be an unforgettable year, and we already like 2026 a lot.”

Luigi Dall’Igna – General Manager, Ducati Corse: “Alex Marquez’s season has been impressive. After a series of evaluations, Ducati Corse has decided to further increase our support so that the rider and his working group can continue to grow. Álex is making the most of the Desmosedici GP’s potential, and we are convinced that, with new updates, next year we will continue to improve together. This will be an added value for the whole Ducati family.”

With six races still to go in the 2025 season, Álex Márquez will look to add more podiums to his tally before beginning an exciting new chapter, as a factory-backed rider in Gresini colours.
