Yatri Motorcycles, Nepal’s homegrown premium EV brand, is redefining how electric two-wheelers are built by embracing the power of cloud-native engineering. The company has partnered with Dassault Systèmes to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, using it as the digital backbone for designing its next-generation electric motorcycles and charging infrastructure.
Speed and precision matter in EV development. Yatri used virtual design tools to shorten its product development cycle significantly. The P2 scooter MVP went from a 12-month timeline to just 7 months—a 40% acceleration. Yatri simulated structural performance and fatigue early in the design phase, reducing reliance on physical prototypes.
A Digital-First Manufacturing Model
Unlike traditional vehicle development, Yatri’s approach leans heavily on simulation-driven workflows. Tools like Abaqus and FE-Safe from Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA suite made this possible. These applications allowed engineers to test performance without needing multiple rounds of costly physical prototypes.
“Our goal isn’t just to build electric motorcycles,” said Ashim Pandey, CEO of Yatri Motorcycles. “We’re building a complete mobility ecosystem. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform lets us move faster, reduce waste, and empower our remote teams to collaborate without barriers.”

Scaling Innovation in Emerging Markets
Yatri’s story stands out as a fast-growing startup in an emerging market using advanced digital tools to stay competitive. The cloud-based platform helps the team scale quickly and adapt easily to changing development needs. It also offers powerful tools often unavailable to smaller firms without access to large R&D budgets.
“The success of Yatri Motorcycles shows how virtual twin technology and cloud collaboration can democratize innovation,” said Deepak NG, Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes India. “It’s not just about software—it’s about creating an environment where ideas turn into scalable, sustainable products.”
Setting a Precedent for Regional EV Development
As Nepal’s first premium EV manufacturer, Yatri Motorcycles is blazing a trail for South Asian mobility startups by fusing design, performance, and sustainability. From lightweight, high-performance e-motorcycles to a growing charging network, the company is tackling the EV challenge from multiple fronts, with digital tools playing a central role.
The Yatri-Dassault partnership is a blueprint for other startups aiming to punch above their weight: adopt flexible platforms, prioritise simulation early, and lean into digital-first engineering. The future of mobility might be electric, but as Yatri shows, it’s also virtual.
