BMW Motorrad is set to expand its legendary GS adventure lineup with the upcoming F 450 GS. This bike is a compact yet capable machine designed for riders seeking the same spirit and technology of the larger GS model but in a more accessible form. We can expect the production version of this concept to debut before the end of 2025.
Small in Size, Big on Character
BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the F 450 GS will cater to a specific segment of the market, riders with a smaller build or those looking for a more manageable adventure bike without compromising on quality, style, or performance.
The goal is to make adventure touring more inclusive, especially for newer or smaller riders.

GS Engineering, Downscaled
Although scaled down in engine size and dimensions, the F 450 GS will pack a technological punch. The motorcycle is likely to feature premium features found in its larger GS siblings, including:
- Multiple riding modes
- Quickshifter functionality
- Optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) gearbox
- Off-road capable suspension
- 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels for mixed terrain handling
The F 450 GS will likely draw styling and functional inspiration from the flagship R 1300 GS, offering familiar rugged aesthetics with advanced ergonomics and terrain versatility.
BMW F 450 GS: Power Meets Precision
Under the hood (or tank), the F 450 GS will feature a 450cc parallel-twin engine, delivering a respectable 47.3 horsepower and weighing in at just 175 kg, a sweet spot for balance and agility. That puts it in the A2 license category in Europe, opening access to a wider range of riders.

A New Entry Point into the GS Legacy
By delivering a full-fledged GS riding experience in a smaller package, the F 450 GS fills a gap in the market, ideal for urban commuters, light adventure riders, and new entrants into the BMW Motorrad family. If it lives up to its promise, it could become a benchmark in the lightweight adventure segment.
With a launch confirmed for later this year, the F 450 GS could redefine what a beginner-friendly adventure bike can be: smart, stylish, and GS to the core.
