The 14th edition of Art of Speed (AOS) wrapped up in spectacular fashion last weekend, 26–27 July 2025, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), attracting a massive crowd of fans, collectors, and custom culture enthusiasts from across the region.
Living up to its reputation as Malaysia’s premier custom culture celebration, AOS 2025 delivered an unforgettable weekend under the theme “Kustom Ada Gaya,” featuring wild custom rides, global automotive icons, high-energy live acts, and a festival-like atmosphere that filled the sprawling venue with nonstop excitement.
Among the most anticipated attractions was the presence of international legends including Shige Suganuma, Hiro “Wildman” Ishii, and Hey Murakamii of Mooneyes Japan, Brendon Vetuskey (Hot Wheels Product Designer), Darren McKeag of McKeag Art USA, and Mark Hawwa from The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Their participation added star power and global relevance to an already jam-packed weekend.

One of the highlights was the return of the 3rd Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia (HWCCM) at Hall C. Fans and collectors were treated to engaging activities such as the Hot Wheels Activation Zone, Rare and Collectibles Exhibition, Custom Competition, and Collector Sharing Sessions. This year also saw a milestone launch, the first left- and right-facing pair of convention cars in Southeast Asia, unveiled by Vetuskey himself.
Beyond the cars and collectibles, AOS 2025 was a playground for every type of enthusiast. From classic Volkswagen Beetle battles and scooterist gatherings to a fashion showcase by Sunburst Tribe and an expanded outdoor presence by Backdoor SoundSystem Collective, there was something for everyone. The Test Ride Zone also proved a hit, offering attendees the chance to ride the latest models from brands like Royal Enfield, Vespa, Triumph, Harley-Davidson, and more.

Live music was another cornerstone of the experience, with the SoundCircus Takeover stage inside Hall A delivering non-stop performances throughout the weekend. Acts like Ruffedge, Noh Salleh & Restoe Iboe, Romantic Echoes from Indonesia, Iqbal M, Luqman Podolski, Budak Nakal Hujung Simpang, and Fugo brought the house down, blending nostalgia, indie vibes, and raw energy to fuel the crowd. From hip-hop to dub to alternative rock, the sonic mix elevated AOS from an automotive show into a full-blown cultural festival.
One of the most anticipated segments of AOS each year is the Best of Show announcement, and 2025 did not disappoint. The coveted Best of Show (Automobile) title went to Shaun Pinto with his immaculately restored 1965 Volkswagen Beetle, while the Best of Show (Motorcycle) was awarded to Omar Jumiran of Eastern Bobber for his handcrafted 1983 Honda CB175. Both winners will represent Malaysia at the 33rd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan this December.

Other standout accolades included Best Marketplace awarded to ABAH & SONS, Best Display Car going to a Toyota Hilux by NEDREE, and Best Display Motorcycle claimed by a Harley-Davidson Shovelhead (Shedi) built by MUTOHEAD.
As the weekend concluded, one thing was clear, AOS 2025 was more than just a show; it was a statement. With thousands flocking to MAEPS and a spirit of creativity running through every hall and alleyway, the event reinforced its reputation as the heartbeat of Malaysia’s custom culture scene. The passion, energy, and craftsmanship on display proved that Art of Speed isn’t just surviving, it’s thriving, and the community can’t wait to see what’s next.
