As part of the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off its latest superbike vision: the BMW Motorrad Concept RR. Designed as a bold statement of future performance, design, and engineering, the Concept RR sets the tone for the next generation of RR models to come.
Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, described the Concept RR as “a true masterpiece” and emphasised its close connection to BMW’s championship-winning motorsport pedigree.
“Never before has BMW Motorrad provided such an early glimpse into a future generation of the RR models,” said Flasch. “Guided and inspired by the BMW Motorrad factory superbike M 1000 RR – with which Toprak Razgatlıoğlu dominated the FIM World Superbike Championship – the Concept RR delivers a firework of superlatives for both street and track use,” he said.

At the heart of the Concept RR lies a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine derived directly from the M 1000 RR, already producing over 230 horsepower (169 kW). This powerhouse is matched by a full suite of racing-grade electronics, including engine management, traction control, and engine brake control, all inherited from BMW’s WSBK program.
The Concept RR’s focus on lightweight construction is evident throughout. A combination of carbon fibre and aluminium reduces weight while maximising structural integrity and performance. Every component, down to the smallest detail, has been engineered for ultimate efficiency and speed.
The bike’s design is both aggressive and minimalist, with aerodynamics taking centre stage. Engineers focused on delivering maximum cornering speed, high-speed stability, and reduced drag. Innovative airflow channels run through the motorcycle’s bodywork – from a ventilated front fairing to an aerodynamically optimised and monolithic rear tail, which also features a ventilated design. The tail section is highlighted by a machined aluminium subframe, embossed RR logo, and an illuminated RR symbol, underlining the bike’s premium craftsmanship.

Adding to its track-focused design, the Concept RR is fitted with an aerodynamically enhanced fairing complete with winglets for added downforce, and high-performance braking components, ensuring it is ready for aggressive use on both road and racetrack.
BMW Motorrad’s longstanding commitment to motorsport continues to influence its production models, and the Concept RR is the clearest expression yet of this racing-to-road transfer.

“The symbiosis of engineering excellence and top performance is part of our DNA,” said BMW Motorrad in its statement. “This dedication is reflected in every detail of our superbikes, and the valuable insights gained from racing flow directly into what we build for the street.”
While no timeline has been announced for a production version, the Concept RR offers a tantalising preview of what’s to come for BMW’s superbike future.
