In a move aimed at streamlining the driver education process and reducing costs for Malaysians, the Transport Ministry has announced the integration of the KPP01 module for both motorcycle and car licences, effective August 1, 2025.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook made the announcement during his keynote address at the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) 79th anniversary celebration on April 19, attended by Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah and JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.
Previously delivered as two separate learning modules, the updated KPP01 will now serve as a single comprehensive module that emphasizes road safety for both motorcycle and car drivers. Loke stated that the move is expected to lower licensing costs and shorten the time required to obtain a licence.
“This integration reflects our commitment to improving public service delivery and making the licensing process more efficient for all road users,” said Loke.
In addition to the KPP01 module revamp, the minister highlighted several other JPJ initiatives under its digital modernisation drive:
- MyJPJ app upgrades, including support for TnG e-wallet payments for summonses
- A new JPJ official portal, featuring a minimalist, user-friendly interface powered by the latest tech
- The launch of JPJeBid Mobile, a mobile version of JPJ’s vehicle registration number bidding platform, promises a seamless and accessible user experience
- A new JPJ branch in Kuala Kangsar, enhancing service delivery to residents in the area
The integration of the KPP01 module is part of a broader roadmap to simplify and modernise public-facing transport services while strengthening safety education across Malaysia’s roads.
