Maxime Renaux escapes serious injury after a crash at the MXGP of Switzerland. Yamaha rider confirms no fractures and eyes recovery ahead of Portugal round.

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP rider Maxime Renaux escaped serious injury after a dramatic crash in Race 2 of the MXGP of Switzerland — the sixth round of the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship.

Renaux, who had shown strong form throughout the weekend. He delivered a gritty performance in Race 1, clawing his way up from outside the top ten to finish fifth. In Race 2, he was on the verge of a podium finish, locked in a tight battle for second place, when disaster struck. With just three laps to go, the Frenchman lost control over a small tabletop and was thrown over the handlebars.

Medical staff at the track responded quickly, and after a full check-up, FIM doctors confirmed that Renaux had suffered acute bruising to his left hip and gluteal area. Fortunately, there were no fractures or major structural injuries.

“I’m lucky to escape this big crash with no major injury,” Renaux said. “It’s not an easy period for me right now. We need to monitor my recovery over the next few days to make a plan for the upcoming races.”

With a two-week break before the next round in Portugal, Renaux remains hopeful but cautious.

“Hopefully, these two weeks will bring good healing and I’ll be able to line up in Portugal. But I’ll take my time and not rush the process, as my body needs rest now.”

The Monster Energy Yamaha team will be watching his recovery closely, as Renaux continues his pursuit of consistency and momentum in an already demanding season.
