Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins have arrived in Argentina, eager to make their mark at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo after a challenging start to the 2025 MotoGP season in Thailand. With their sights set on climbing the championship leaderboard, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP riders are ready to tackle the iconic circuit and deliver a strong performance for their fans.

Fabio Quartararo, currently 13th in the championship standings, is looking forward to returning to Argentina after a two-year hiatus. The Frenchman has raced at the Termas track three times in the premier class, with his best result being seventh in 2023. He also secured ninth place in the Sprint race that year.

“The Thai GP was quite extreme in terms of temperature, especially on race day,” Quartararo reflected. “But we learned from the situation, and now we focus on the Argentina GP. We haven’t been at the Termas track in a while, so I’m sure the fans there are very happy that we’re back again. In the past, this hasn’t been an easy track for me, but, as always, we will give it our all to do a good job.”

Quartararo is determined to improve on his previous results at the circuit and score valuable points to boost his position in the standings.

Meanwhile, Álex Rins, still seeking his first points of the season, is excited to return to Latin America. The Spanish rider has a strong history at Termas de Río Hondo, having secured two podium finishes in 2018 and 2022. However, he anticipates a tricky start to the weekend due to the track’s traditionally low grip levels.

“Yamaha have gone over all the Thai GP data from the first round, and now we go to Argentina,” Rins said. “On Friday, we will need to focus on managing the grip because it will be low, but this will improve throughout the weekend, and then let’s see where we stand. For sure, we never stop pushing, also off-track. We are very motivated to keep working and doing whatever it takes to improve.”

Massimo Meregalli, Team Director of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, expressed optimism about the weekend. “It’s nice to be back at the Termas track, where we have so many nice memories. There are many spectators and motorcycle enthusiasts in Argentina, so we are motivated to give them a good show this weekend,” he said.

“We think Friday will be the most difficult day of this GP round as the track conditions will still be very ‘green.’ This has also been the case at this circuit in the past. But, generally speaking, this track is okay for us, so we expect to get better as the track conditions improve and to score decent results.”

Weekend Schedule

The Argentina Grand Prix, held in the GMT-3 time zone, kicks off with FP1 on Friday from 10:45-11:30 local time, followed by Practice from 15:00-16:00. Saturday’s action includes FP2 (10:10-10:40), Qualifying (10:50-11:30), and the 12-lap Sprint race at 15:00. On Sunday, Warm Up takes place from 10:40-10:50, with the 25-lap Race starting at 15:00.
