For years, fans of Akira have dreamed of owning a real-life version of Kaneda’s legendary red motorcycle. Thanks to Bel&Bel, that dream is closer than ever to becoming a reality. The Ichiban motorcycle, which has captivated internet audiences for the past year, is now officially moving into production.

Power and Performance

While exact specifications have yet to be fully unveiled, what we do know is that the Ichiban is an electric powerhouse. It runs on a dual electric motor system that delivers 5 kW of power, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. That’s an impressive feat for an electric bike inspired by a cyberpunk classic.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Perhaps the most intriguing feature of the Ichiban is its so-called “Godzilla” mode. This function enables the bike to maintain a steady 60 mph for 10 seconds when activated. While details remain scarce, it seems to function similarly to cruise control, offering a brief, effortless high-speed ride.

On a full charge, the Ichiban boasts an estimated range of 155 miles, making it a viable option for long-distance cruising. Additionally, a fast charge of just 30 minutes can replenish up to 108 miles of range, ensuring that riders can get back on the road quickly.

Street Legality and Safety Features

To bring this futuristic bike to the streets legally, Bel&Bel is working on integrating essential safety features such as ABS and traction control. These systems will not only help meet regulatory requirements but also enhance overall rider safety and performance.

Pricing and Availability of the Ichiban Motorcycle

As of now, there is no official word on pricing or availability. Given the advanced technology and niche appeal of the bike, it’s expected to be a premium offering. More details are likely to emerge as production progresses.

More Than Just a Motorcycle

The designer of the Ichiban has emphasized that this bike is more than just a mode of transport. It represents freedom in an overly interconnected world—a machine built for escape and exhilaration. Much like Kaneda’s bike in Akira, the Ichiban aims to embody the rebellious spirit of its inspiration, giving riders a taste of sci-fi fantasy in the real world.

For now, Akira fans and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike will have to wait for further announcements, but one thing is certain—the future of motorcycles is looking a lot more cyberpunk.
